Okay so I've solved all the riddles, but what about the mystery? What happened to the excavation team on the 29th week? Is there some kind of storyline that I'm just not seeing?

If you've solved all the riddles, the 63rd riddle answer (not the key you get, but what you put in to get the key) should give you some hints to the resolution of the storyline.

But there are no definite answers about what happened.

Sounds like it's a very elaborate call for help. How do you think we can get them out of the book? What were they excavating that ended up cursing them like this?

I just finished the book. I wish there was a little bit of story at the end to finish it out. I understand the final solution but it doesn't really give me closure to the story.

First of all, loved this book!

And I know it's about the journey not the destination, so please consider as a constructive comment for a future effort.

Couldn't help noticing that the Key to puzzle 56 is never used. . . .

Also, it's possible to solve "The End" (Puzzle 63) by only solving puzzles 57-63.
Obviously, that would be pointless, but it would be cooler if the ending puzzle could really only be solved by chaining together keys (through multiple puzzles) from a majority of other puzzles.

But what the end suggests. Were they kidnapped? Or did they die?
