Just stumped

These look like compass directions, but they don't make sense. Dashes could be subtraction or indicate lines. Four circles four lines of formulas. I can see how the first line and first circle could produce X. But then the others are just I, I, and ??

Really really struggling here. Read all the spoilers. Just can’t work out whether this some form of arithmetic progression across the clues, some form of total movement or indeed how to express the answer.

it is indeed a word! do not draw the angles the degrees would make, only the outside edge
