I cut out the keyholes thinking literally and before checking here. I have since read all the previous posts but I'm still not getting it.

Although I (think I) managed to find the number of pages a, b and d, there is no nose pointing for page c.

This puzzle can throw you a curve if you let it, but the solution is rather straightforward. Below are graded hints leading to the solution, which is a four digit number.

This puzzle uses everything on the page to solve, including the arrow that directs you to the following four pages that have a black background and keyhole symbols in the middle.

The first line reads 'peek through a with left eye'. On the black pages, which keyhole has the letter 'a' attached to it? Just hold the book close to your face as if your left eye is peeking through the keyhole.

If you felt foolish doing that, it's okay. Note the clue at the bottom? Who (or rather what) knows things? A well-known catch phrase states that a certain part of the body 'knows'.

'The nose knows'. Peek through the 'a' keyhole with your left eye again. If you have a relatively normal-proportioned face, then your nose will be pointing at the number 3.

The second line reads 'peek through b with right eye'. Do the same and note the number your nose is pointing to.

Do the same for lines 3-5. Don't let line 4 throw you--no number is just that. Nothing. You can just skip line 4 essentially.

I just want to say that if you're a woman with a small nose this puzzle doesn't work, you get all the wrong numbers
