I only did as I tried everything. How did you figure to get the Parentheses ? Was it clear in the puzzle that I missed? Without them and by rules of operations (that are followed here in the US - don’t want to assume everyone else does ) then the answer would be 32

I get if you do the math in the order left to right. However order of operation stat to multiply comes before adding unless it is in parentheses. Doing the puzzle I don’t see where the moving ball goes over something that is obviously showing that the addition is surrounded by parentheses, therefore going by math rules you would multiply first the the rest. I my main reason of asking is if this is a “location” difference (as with date orders being different) or if the puzzle is ignoring math rules

The rules of mathematics is followed. Since there are no parentheses specified on the mug then you work the operators from left to right in the order specified.

No, if there are no parenthesis, multiplication should be taken first. E.g, both 5 + 3 x 0 and 3 x 0 + 5 are five
