I judged it by the shape of the eyes as I saw them.

However, I tried to see if I could include the owl's eyes.
As a result, it seems correct not to include the owl's eyes.

I'm still not understanding which shape/colour I should be counting for the half moons to get that answer. Could someone give an indication of their locations?

There are many crescent shapes, but I tried three crescents near question E and succeeded.
To be honest, I am not sure what is correct.

Yeah, there nothing looking like "classical" half moons on the mug. That makes it a bit challenging.
