This makes absolutely no sense to me. You can find the answer in the hints given by the book, but the key for this page I think is wrong or a typo? I don't see at all how you get this.

So, I can draw the picture of it. I even took screenshots of each image and used paint to put them together.
"Was ist das?" is German for "What is that?" which leads one to think the answer is the German translation of the picture.

Doesn't like any of the items I've typed in English or German so now I'm stuck. I've even used the key.7 clue as an indication of the location of said item. Not it.
Spoiler!
It's not anything like gift or present.
WHOA! So, I gave up and went to the URL for the hints -- There is no way I would have EVER come up with that. I am absolutely clueless how we would come up with that answer.

... have you ever flipped through the whole booklet? But be aware: using the hints really spoils the fun and interaction in the forum.

First
Spoiler!
Draw the picture and get a word in English.
Then
Spoiler!
Pretend the word is German
And
Spoiler!
Translate it to English
Basically
Spoiler!
There is a collection of letters that the English think mean one thing but Germans think means another
