If "the cave" refers to page 124, erasing the top half of the page might mean the upside down image that is left.

This literal puzzle is very doable, but requires you to stick it out completely and fail a few times in order to get the right answer. Below are graded hints leading to the solution, which is a common 4-letter word. It assumes you know keys 132-133. If you don't know them, don't continue.

Everything you need to solve the puzzle is on the page. It is very literal. Focus on the 3 phrases, and don't worry about anything else in the book or online.

The first phrase is better rendered "get the first two things you find in CAVE". And the second phrase is better rendered "erase the top half of PAGE".

If you orient the word 'page' vertically, you may have an easier time erasing the top half.

Combining CA from 'cave' with GE from 'page' yields the word CAGE, but you're not done yet. There's more on the page.
