This very traditional cipher puzzle will be an easy solve for those who recognize it. For those who don't, below are some graded hints leading to the solution, which is a common 4-letter word.

This puzzle is an Arnold cipher (or an easy variation on it) using the numbers in the symbol and the text above them. Google 'arnold cipher' to learn how it works.

The 3 numbers in each of the 4 groups of numbers in the symbol relate to the line, word, and letter-in-word in the text.

The first group of numbers is '4-4-1'. If you go to the 4th line down, 4th word in, and 1st letter, you'll see its an 'f'. That's the first letter in the answer.
