I've managed to find every hexagon except the big one with the straight lines (above "too many pages..."). I've flipped through the book many times but I'm at a loss. I even tried using 38 and 39 (seeing through next page) as that value.

I found all five page numbers of the symbols. I multiplied them together. But the answer doesn't work. I double-checked the page numbers and redid the calculation several times to be sure. I even tried reversing the order of the digits for the hexagon where search is spelled serach. No idea what's wrong. Is the clue "too many pages" supposed to mean that we should leave out one of the pages from the equation? I tried that too, leaving out the "serach" one and the top right one but neither of those answers worked. It seems like the simplest answer (just multiplying the five numbers) is probably what it's looking for, but it doesn't work.

My kid reverse engineered the answer to this problem from another problem, but I still want to know how everyone’s getting it from the clue itself. Help!

Below is a graded hint system leading to the final solution.

1) There are 5 symbols on the page, and at the bottom is an equation where you need to multiply them all together to get the final answer. Finding the numerical value of the 5 symbols is the key to solving the puzzle.

2) The key to getting the numeric values for each symbol is in the phrase ''Interesting symbol, I think I saw that again somewhere. . .' It involves using 5 other pages in the book. Look through the 'numbered' pages of the book (the ones with the QR code on them) and find the 5 symbols scattered across five different numbered pages.
