Love this forum! Two things that might help:

1. My book must be a "bad print", because the thing in the bottom right corner looks like an ink blob in mine, causing a ton of confusion. Thanks to finding this site, I discovered it's a knight!

2.
Spoiler!
Some of the hints given say there's only one path, which isn't exactly correct-- meaning, you can certainly get from point A to point B a number of different ways. But there's only one way to do it if you stick to one very important condition/rule...
Hope that helps! And thanks, again, to everyone here! So glad to have found you guys!!! :D

I had a lot of trouble with this too.

Here is a tip, similar to what others in the thread said:
Spoiler!
Only enter the numbers that the knight lands on, nothing in between. I started with the king and worked backwards when doing the moves.
Here is the answer:

Here is the path I took: https://imgur.com/a/p4s1YYp. I'm still not sure the pattern to it.

I am a bit frustrated. My book is very blurry and the knight looked like a sloppy smudged two. No way I would have recognized it as a knight. When I started reading on here about a knight and chess I kept wondering how people made that leap. As soon as I figured out it wasn't a blurry 2, I found the answer quickly. Dissapointed the poor print ruined this one.

The knight must walk a path of only digits to the obvious destination. The path may twist and turn, but there is only one true path.
I have tried every combination but nothing! A solution would be great :)

I have tried every possible combination to get to the king using the 2-1 movements and none work! Could someone post the solution?

This can be a fairly tricky puzzle if you have an older edition of the book. Once you have a few basic understandings about the page, however, it becomes fairly straightforward. The solution is found in the 8X8 grid of squares, the numbers in them, the jewel like symbol in the upper left of the grid, and the black squiggly symbol in the very bottom right hand corner. All else on the page can be ignored as irrelevant to the solution.

Below are a series of graded hints leading to the final solution, which is ultimately a 6 digit code:
Spoiler!
The fact that the grid of squares is 8X8, that the squiggly blob in the bottom right looks like a horses head from the side, and the jewel like figure in the upper left resembles a top down view of a crown is NOT a coincidence.
Spoiler!
The grid is a chessboard, with a knight in the bottom right corner and a king in the upper left. The key to solving the puzzle is to move the knight around the board in such a way so as to capture the king.
Spoiler!
In chess, the knight moves in a 2X3 L-shaped pattern. It can move in any direction except diagonally. If you do not understand the movement of a knight in chess, Google it and learn, or you will not be successful in solving the puzzle.
Spoiler!
Move the knight over the board so that it lands on a number with each move, and never revisits a square/number it has previously occupied. If you do, you will move the knight 6 times (landing on 6 different numbers) and reach the king.
Spoiler!
The first move for the knight is left 2 and up 1, landing on the '3'. Any other option puts the knight on a blank square. 3 is the first number in the solution.
Spoiler!
Of the 5 potential moves for the knight sitting on the '3' square, only one has another number in it -- a '9'. 9 is the second digit in the solution.
Spoiler!
Keep going, knowing that the knight must move to a numbered square is has never occupied before.
And the final solution is below. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER!!!

Once you understand what the black smudge in the bottom right corner is supposed to represent, this is quite easy.

You are using the numbers which make up the path between the knight's starting point and the king. You may not step on empty space. You may not make illegal moves.
There is only one path.
Thx - the part about not landing on any blank spaces made it click for me. Because otherwise there are lots of valid paths.
