Olivia--where did you get that second "e"? Not that I've had any luck without it so far.

I have the right word, I just can't work out what I need to do with it. Google has helped and I see where it's headed, I just don't know what's required.

I tried all sorts of things, including occasionally putting in my original word out of frustration. Then, one day, it WORKED. I swear I didn't do anything different, but suddenly it was the right answer. I have no explanation for this.

This puzzle requires you to configure keywords in subtle ways to find the answer which is an obscure medical condition. Below are graded hints leading to the solution. It assumes you know keys 11, 12, and 8. If you don't know them, don't continue.
Spoiler!
1) The only thing relevant on this page is " {eyk.12}{eyk.11}{key.8} ". The phrase is deliberately laid out that way and all else can be ignored.
Spoiler!
2) Keys 12, 11, and 8 are 'ten' 'pro', and 'ion' respectively. {eyk.12} alerts you to rearrange the letters of the keyword 'ten' to 'ent'
Spoiler!
3) Doing the same to key 11 (pro) yields 'rop'.
And below is the answer. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER!!!
Spoiler!
entropion - A condition in which the eyelid is rolled inward against the eyeball, resulting in irritation of the eye by the lashes.

Yes, the font is what messed me up. I thought it was a T, but it isn't.

I think the sentence is a part of the clue,
Spoiler!
If you think your spelling is right, guess again and double check the initial letter of each key before inverting it as it may not be what you think
Spoiler!
None of the three keys for this puzzle are proper names or units of heavy measurement

It's actually not 'Jon', it's 'ion' There are definitely issues with the fonts used on the webpages and the book. It befuddles people unnecessarily. Fortunately, the authors fixed a lot of them in the sequel--check it out!
