This simple puzzle will require a bit of outside information/knowledge. Google is your friend here. The only important elements of this page are the 5 groups of six black and white dot patterns. All else can be ignored to find the answer, which is ultimately a common five-letter word. Below are graded hints leading to the answer.

The 5 six-dot patterns are easily recognized as letters in the Braille language (used by blind people in order to read English letters and words). Each pattern of six represents one letter. The five letters together spell a common English word.

Google 'Braille translator' or 'Braille letters' to find the letters of the English alphabet and their Braille equivalents. Look through the list of Braille symbols and find ones that match the 5 on the page.

Don't know how but just read the clue and the first thing that popped into my head was the correct answer.
