It is really funny. I spent many hours today to solve this. I now got correct answer just by accident. There is an error in answer so all you sherlocks who could solve it in 3 minutes - you will fail because correct answer is just wrong.
I was sure in the beginning it is not possible because there was so many potential testers but it looks nobody tested it at all. Haha. This riddle is one BIG mistake. So funny.....

So you know the answer you fill the answer field and ------- YOU FAIL

One time in one hundred you will make mistake typing in an answer (of course the correct one) if you have crappy keyboard for example and then you WIN!

So to all very few of you who solved that riddle, you will not solve it again hahaha. Try it :-). You will be not able to repeat your success because you solved it by mistake. Thats so funny. Meta riddle by incident.

Spoiler!
From your super duper analysis you get two numbers - two digits each. Lets say first number is xy and second number is ij. You put those numbers as an four digits answer. Unfortunately xyij do not work as well ijxy also do not work. But other combination will do heh. In polish we call this typing error "czech error" often happens when fast typing numbers.... Have fun!

I’ve looked at all of these posts, and I’ve gotten my numbers where the differences are...but when I put them in, wrong! No matter how I do it. I have checked, and double checked my digits and know that the four I have are correct...what am I missing?

I'm not sure what you're talking about. I passed this page with no issue. I just went back and tried the same code I found before and it still works so there's no typo in the book.

Below is a 4 step nudge/hint system to get to the final answer.

Spoiler!
1) The number in the book is similar to, but slightly (and meaningfully) different from a mathematically famous number.

Spoiler!
2) You only need to concentrate on the first 10 digits of the number (and its famous counterpart) after the period/decimal point to solve this riddle.

Spoiler!
3) It is useful (essential really) to write out both numbers side by side so you may compare them.

Spoiler!
4) The answer is a four-digit code, and the sequence of those four digits to make the code echoes the 'shape' the number sequence makes in the book.

And the final answer is below. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER!!!

Spoiler!
2689

The sequence of the 4 numbers is specific--and tricky.

Spoiler!
Write the first 11 digits of the 'famous' number in a row. Then write the first 11 digits of the 'book' number in a row just beneath it. Find the 4-key numbers (which should be in a 2X2 configuration). The sequence of the 4 numbers in the final answer matches the 'shape' of the book number as displayed on the page.
