Zeroes and ones?

I tried binary but it didn't work for me.

The grouping of the dots and dashes is significant.

I'm not even certain what we're qualifying as "dashes" and "dots" here. Vertical vs horizontal makes sense, I guess, but what about the degree to which the horizontal blocks are filled in?

exactly because means absolutely nothing to me! IF that is anything. and 1,221,143 doesn't mean anything to me either

I thought it might be letters (like a cryptogram), spelling a phrase A'BB CC D'E "FFFF GGG" but I guess I'm way off, if the amount of fill doesn't matter. If they're number of dots and dashes, I'm as clueless as the poster above. Even if you add up the number of dashes, you get 1517? I need another nudge, please
