This puzzle requires information from other areas of the book and a small intuitive leap. Below are some graded hints leading to the solution, which is a 5-digit number. It assumes you know keys 70-72. If you don’t know them, then don’t continue. . .
Spoiler!
The 3 keywords form an essential clue 'excavation bar code'. Look through the book to find the 3 different bar codes in it. Only one of those bar codes is associated with 'expedition' however.
Spoiler!
Examine the Excavation ID barcode closely, focusing on the 6 thick black lines that have white horizontal breaks in them at various points. There are 6 broken black lines, and 6 numbers in the code ID '342351'.
Spoiler!
Each broken black line in the bar code represents a number from 1-5. The black line that is broken close to the top (the 1st and 4th one) is '3'. The last one (6th) with the line broken close to the bottom is '1'. Look closely to learn which number (1 thru 5) is which broken line (i.e. where the break is in the line).
Spoiler!
Return to page 75, and notice that the center figure is a series of 5 broken black lines, just like the excavation ID. Now that you know which broken line represents which number from 1-5, assign them as you see them.
Spoiler!
The 4th line is tricky, as it contains 2 broken lines in the same places as 4 and 5 in the bar code. This line is both 4 and 5, and should be treated as such. 4 and 5 is 9.

And the solution is below. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER!!

Spoiler!
There are 3 (possibly more) {key71}{key72}s in the book which threw me off, make sure you're using the right one! It's labeled {key70}ID.
Then:
Spoiler!
Look at how the lines correlate with the numbers in the barcode and assign each a value.
Then:
Spoiler!
Translate them onto 75, bar 4 is unique but-
If the last part still stumps you:
Spoiler!
Try to think of it as 2 numbers combined.

Spoiler!
I got the answer solved thru just guessing the 4th digit but still no idea where it would have come from. Anybody want to clue me in? Honestly not particularly enjoying this book.
