Ok, so, I suck at this. Am I on a right path at all? The 90 has a 90 degree angle in it, same with the 45, I just can’t tell what the next thing is supposed to be.... 1 squiggly line 5....15? I’m so lost.

I suspect I’m missing something simple but have tried many iterations of maths.

It should spell out 135.

It is WAY easy to overthink this 'find the next number in the series' puzzle. Below are some graded hints leading to the solution.
Spoiler!
There are 4 numbers in the series from top to bottom. The first three give you an identifying feature incorporated into the number the feature represents. The last number in the series only gives you the feature, and you have to find the number it represents. The number is the solution.
Spoiler!
The first number '90' contains two heavily marked lines in the '9' that make a right angle -- a 90 degree angle.
Spoiler!
The next number '45' contains two heavily marked lines in the '4' that make a sharp angle -- a 45 degree angle, and the 3 in 135 contains two lines making a 135 degree angle.
Spoiler!
What 'angle' is represented by a full circle?

And the solution is below. DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER!!
